    New canvas.

I recently used my swag for the first time. It was like sleeping between two sheets of three ply. Is there a trick or secret to making the canvas compliant? Something I can treat it with?

Thanks mate, you're a great help. I expected someone to suggest an acid of some sort.

As far as I am aware Like new boots only wear and age will soften up the canvass on a new swag unfortunately.
I have been using domed swags for the last few years so being new isn't a drama with these But I have bought a new standard swag to use on my boat so I will be watching this thread with interest in case there IS a way to soften them up

I would have thought an old gear jammer of your age and experience would soak it in diesel.

That doesn't make it softer, it just stinks out a day cab.

That would most likely soften the canvass up But I also imagine that it would leak like a sieve as well
