About thirty years ago I had a small Caribee tent with fibreglass poles with aluminium ferules on the end of each piece for the next bit to slip into. A few of them split from the pressure so rather than get them replaced to happen again I bound them with fishing rod binding thread over Areldite and then more Areldite to seal it all. Still going strong to this day.

One of the kids tried a 'bush fix' so I definitely need new bends.
I'll get one of them to put it up on a dry day and see if I can get away with a curved pole rather than straight sections with bends.

    Hi Colin,
I have a Blackwolf Grasshopper 2UL tent. It looks to have the same pole layout, i(it actually looks to be the same tent) one long unit across the diagonal and then 2 other units that go from the corners to above the doors.
None of the pole segments on my tent have bends in them. However my Vango which is several years older has developed bends in the poles.
I am pretty sure the poles are 7075 aluminium - which is called "aircraft aluminium". I needed to replace a couple of segments on my Vango and found the best source to replace these was aliexpress, fleabay seemed a lot dearer at the time. It all comes from China anyway.
I couldn't get the segment length to match my poles so I had to shorten 3 of the new segments to replace 2 of the old, that way I didn't get a stiff section in the arch.

    Cheers Glen
