    Southern Cross - Ultimate Trekker

I've just bought one of the ultimate trekkers, have a question though.

The nylon tape loops - Should they be around the pole (between the pegs) or are they for a different purpose ?

Maybe to attach a guy rope to ?

    Bushie

Wishing for some rain - if only to give it a good soak.

Thanks guys, it looked as if the roof needed a bit of tension in that direction as well as taking some of the weight off the stitching.

Well had it out camping over tha Aust day weekend, light rain most of Thurs arvo and into the night, let a bit of water in through the stitching, but mostly OK.

I had tried soaking it with the hose before leaving, but not very effective on a 40 degree day. Its now up again in the back yard waiting for another soak, if the forecast for showers/storms is right .

Is that the centre pole tent with the extended back? I'm thinking of getting the Tourer, as the cheap dome tent is already showing signs of fatigue as we knew it would. Did you get rid of the Freedom?

As in the Freedom family tourer?

This one is with centre pole, extended back - plenty of room for the double bed/swag etc.

Takes all of about 4 min to put up by yourself.

The hardest bit about buying the tent was finding somewhere that had them on display so we could see one in the flesh.

    Still got the old freedom.

    (and still no rain yet)

I'm looking at getting a freedom, and the camping store emlpoyee said the way to weather them is to put them in the bath for 24 hours then put them out to dry.

If it doesn't rain in the next couple of days I might have to try that.
