What's your experience with ebay tents?

As Ron said watch the nominal height.

I just bought one of these and took it away at easter.

It rained every day:mad: but we didn't get a leak. Heavy canvas, good construction, dark walls for mud splash and general grime. And it came with a ladder for the little people:D(swmbo).

Just spent last week looking in to ebay tents. I emailed a heap of guys who brought from ebay from positive feed section. A few reply and not so positive know.
last guy put it up it rained and had a few small leaks but the roof ponded and it bent the poles not happy.
I rang a few camper trailer company about tents and was put on to a guy who makes the tents at home, so off on Saturday to check him out, will let you know.

This is exactly what I was refering to in the other post.
They have their supports too far apart for the pitch of the roof.
Buying extra spreader spars and running them with the pitch would help somewhat.

Hi Steve, well I looked at all the tents email a heap of ebay buyers and spoke to a lot of camper trailer company's.

Verdict DO NOT buy a ebay tent, it will not last, they call them disposable tents.

I brought a Aussie made one full awning $ 4000.00 cash read to fit on trailer be ready on 14th well made.

I had this canvas made for my camper a couple of years ago, they made the tentage and the awning including the poles guy ropes and h/d pegs for $2700. i made the hoops the way i wanted them they measured and made it then i fitted it to the camper. and this was do by a guy here in Wodonga Vic.

Sure, no problem. He also does board mounted fold out tents to suit soft top trailers and all he needs is the size of the trailer and the distance to the ground. He can put in floors, extra windows and doors fly screens anything you want. He also uses heavy canvas if required.
