I remember sleeping in a trailer with a tent on top when I was a kid. Just an old canvas ridge tent with a simple frame (ridge pole and uprights) and tie anchors around the outside.
    Worked Good!

That's what mum and dad used to have too, then they converted it to a fold out type about 25 years ago. Mum sowed the whole thing herself on a treadle type singer sowing machine! The camper's still in use and as good as ever.

I had a look at one at the camping show.$2700 complete.
    Wouldnt bother!!!
Too far between the roof supports water will pool for sure. The Canvas is nothing like the stuff on the ossie made tops!!!!Didnt feel/look the same, the sun was shining thru the roof!!!! Sewing wasnt that flash either.
Better paying for a good one.$4000 to $5000 seemed to be the norm.
Will say it had alot more space than the "locals"

You will have a lot of difficulty fitting a camper top to that trailer. The floor would be at least a foot off the ground.
    See: http://www.hirecampertrailer.com/ima...%20trailer.jpg

(Note the distance between the top of the trailer and the bottom of the floor of the tent)

    I used to sell them

Most camper tops for trailer come in a standard drop, On road and Off road.
You can get one specially made, but it would cost $$$$

Thanks Ron Mc, Remember the wire cage/sides are comming off...The top of the trailer (where the Bed base will be) is exactly 100cm off the ground. The photo you included is just the result I'm after.
