No,, I'm quite happy with the arrangement I have,,

but I DID see a small pump, just like a 12V battery drill,, only it was an air pump,,

    would make life simple!!

I bought one of those little centrifugal fan type blowers.
    It certainly makes life easy.
I used it a lot including 100 consecutive night inflating two air beds and it's still going strong.
It took about 50 secs for the bed and 10 secs for the pillow.
    Great value for $9.95

Yeah got one of the turbo blower inflaters and it works a treat, Kmart $10 not on sale.

What is really good is that you can deflate just as quick and it sucks all the air out to make it easier to fold up.

Those hand held compressors are sold as tyre inflaters but when the wurth rep decided to demo one on an 18x8.50x8 (Golf buggy tyre) tyre that only had to be inflated to 15psi and it couldnt quite make it.

He told me that it was faulty but they are suddenly not available anymore.

Buy the coleman or similar centrifical pumps which work off a cig lighter socket as they are cheap and work well for years.
I use one for a 3mtr inflatable boat and the the battery pack for the electric outboard is used for the power supply for the pump.
They can be reversed to deflate so the the boat or air bed folds up smaller.
The rechargable ones dont cut in after a while as the battery gives up the ghost sooner or later with age and you have to remember to recharge it.
The cig lighter socket in your 4by also ways works ?

Bought an inflator a few years ago, and never looked back. Inflates a mattress in seconds, and you don't pass out on the floor from blowing up everybodys bed's by mouth.

Can be a little noisy though, especially if your setting up camp late at night and there's other campers nearby.
