Depends on what you want. If you aren't going to use it mush a cheaper dome tent one might do the trick. We bought one from KMart for $140...took it on a desert trip and by the end of the trip (6 weeks) at least 2 zippers were had it
So...depends on how much you want to pay I guess....we went out and spent the money on a decent centre pole jobbie....
I need it to be fairly robust as it will get used not to frequently. Also needs to stand up to lots of condensation so a fly is almost essential as is very good ventilation (i.e. lots of sand-fly proof mesh). My old OzTrail dome tents were definitely a lot better made than the new ones. I'm also liking the look of the Black Wolf Turbo. It is also a quick assemble but is a smaller package than the OzTent.

    Anyone have one of these?

i've seriously been looking at the centre pole variety recently for a new one... They have an external pole kit that you can get too if you need more room inside.

I've really become sick of putting up domes... bought a hiking 1 man tent for cooma but it's too small for anything practical... and have a rooftop and camper trailer for other uses... Have put up one of those 30sec tents before but can't get over the price and length of them... a shame they haven't built another hinge into the centre so can be folded in half.

I have a Canadian centre pole tent I got secondhand nearly 30 years ago. All I've had replaced is the floor which rotted away.

It doesn't have enough ventilation for Oz but it does have one advantage over a lot of Aussie centre-pole tents - the square frame can be removed so the tent rolls up. The fly is far too narrow, unfortunately..

If I bought another tent, I'd like one that can incorporate the rear of the Rangie.

I just looked at OzTrail, they look pretty low priced! For someone like me who doesn't do a lot of camping they are priced OK - although my wife thinks I should buy an OzTent.

That link for the oztrails is about 150 or so cheaper than other sites i've looked at... also have an RV model in the Tourer 9 with a bit more weather protection if you back your rangy in.

Go the Black Wolf turbo, only minutes to put up, can stand upright inside, top quality, about same price as OZ tent, or cheaper, but packs up much, much smaller, Regards Frank.

    anaconda

Should have a look at your nearest Anaconda outlet they have some great camping products, reasonably priced and better priced when they have their specials on.
