Nope , you're right , they don't advertise their specs on the site for one reason or another.

Their specs are all in their catalog, you can order one from their website and they turn up pretty quickly.

Those specs are quite high compared with what Waeco quote. Perhaps Waeco are a bit optimistic, as manufacturers can be, but their catalog says for the CF-50ac avg power consumption @ 12v, 5c interior, 32c ambient (89f)=0.86amps per hour.

Re-read the website above and they also reckon they're quoting Waeco specs. Based on personal experience I'd say current draw is closer on avg to 1amp than 5amps/hr.

I have a Waeco CF50 for the last 5 years. The first 2 years was runnig all the time as a deep freezer on the motorhome.
The only problem with them is the electronic temperature control. Any spike on the line and the circuit board will go and the fridge will work only as a deep freezer non stop :(
I fitted the old regulator system (a nob) and is working perfectly.
If I have to replace it I will get a Evakool, it has the same compressor but a nob for adjusting the temperature instead of the electronics.
If I have the money the best fridge is the Trailblazer.

Thanks Chucaro,you have just solved a problem for Graz,his Trak Shack camper trailer has 2 Waecos side by side,one will only freeze as you mention.

Speaking of Waecos, I have had mine since July 06 and have only run it on 12 volts, eventually the error light would show and I always blamed one of my batteries. I used it at home a few weeks ago on 240 volts and the error light came up again and after researching the net decided to take it to the recommended repairer who discovered two faults; the poly fuse and the compressor module were faulty. Thinking back now I believe the fridge was faulty from day one.

Got the CF50 myself about 2 years ago, and love it. Fits in the back of the rangie, and works a charm. Th onlt drawback is the extra height, which makes it a little trick to open while in situ.

Had my Waeco for 3 years and it has been out on the Hay River track and then the Magigan Line and Geosurveys Hill and has never missed a beat. I took the advice of some AULRO folk and fitted heavy cable to the battery.

Never had a problem and with a dual battey setup through a Piranha system the fridge runs for days with no problem on the deep cycle battery.

Use it in the house for Xmas and parties as well as in the tent up the coast where it cools the stubbies nicely.

I'd buy another one tomorrow but I think it will go for a hell of a lot longer before I need to do that

about to buy the same convinced me.
Love the idea of the 50 being slightly larger than the 40 in capacity and not much bigger in footprint.
The 40l friends have seem ok for 2 days but struggle for room for any more days.

Common problem with the waeco those fans, I used to repair them where I used to work for a different mob, you will find the top control panel and fan are not that expensive from Waeco or agent ! but if pay for them to be fitted out of warrenty they can cost a bit !!,,, I too have used a computer fan a few time with no problems, I tend to carry a top board and a fan now just coz you can fit them in about 10 min's with ease and ts about the only thing that can stop them being efficient ! I have had 3 waecos for over 8 years !, and My 50lt runs continuously with a 80 watt solar panel and 40mins of driving a day ! recently gave her a birthday with top panel and fan and the fan in particular made it much more economical to run !
