Camping set up on our recent fishing trip. On arrival I set up the OzTent RV5 & the little Malammoo 3 second tent, as I wanted to try the little tent as on overnight trips this is all I will take.

Set up semi protected from NW & SW by the sand dunes. Had a very comfortable Monday night on a stretcher in the OzTent, in fact the best nights sleep I have had in a long time. Then on Tuesday the winds picked up & it was obvious the OzTent was not going to hack it in full set up, so packed it away.

The morning after the 35 to 45 knot winds, thunderstorms & heavy rain, & the little Malammoo with the help of 4 star pickets & guys ropes from the OzTent had come through with flying colours. Very dry inside, comfortable with a single airbed & still in one piece - can't say it was very quiet though... probably would have taken 30 seconds to put away if not for the strong winds, & now trying to get a few kilos of wet sand out between the double skins Thoroughly recommend it though.

When that cold front came through we were wondering how you guys were getting on. I was going to head over to Qld and pick up the new 109 inch but we decided to head up to Exmouth instead fro a week. the rain even made it all the way up there but when it fined up it was very good. Lots of fish and good snorkelling. Photos of our set up in the camping thread "Rof top tent". Mike

Thanks for thinking of us Mike, myself & 2 others were OK the rest got soggy sleeping bags, bedding etc. Had a good night the next day in the S-Bends caravan park, sharing 2 chalets. Only took us 2 days to get home, where I am still clearing out sand from the poor old 107". Mind you there is still red dust coming out from the previous owners trip to the Geographic centre of Australia back in 2010. Won't be long before you join us with the 109, no roof top tenting then? Cheers Nigel

This is our custom light weight off road camper. Roof top tent is a bit small but snug in cold weather.

    My No5 Camp set up

    Hey all new guy here.
I bought a No5 army trailer last year and have modified it for camping. Here is the set up I quickly made up prior to driving from the NT to Perth WA.
I will be starting next week to dismantle my setup and making it lighter and also build a pull out kitchen, and hot water system.

Basic setup, camping stuff, fridge and pull out cooker on passenger side. Boat stuff on drivers side. Swag for overnight stops, tent for longer stays.
