Without seeing this thread, I purchased one of these online. It was delivered today. I also bought the "frying dish" & the roasting rack.
First test tonight in barbeque mode - honey soy chicken. :)
One thing I would say is that you shouldn't get one of these if you are time poor. It takes time for the briquettes to "settle down".
Best Wishes,
Peter
Im interested but Ive heard they dont get hot enough to make a steak sizzle like the way it should:(.
Cheers Dean.
All roasts 2 hours 9 coals, chicken wings 1 hour,
we use ours twice a week.
Simply brilliant
Used ours for the first time last weekend, the best roast chicken I've had for ages.
On holiday at Easter we noticed a few people using them, did some research when we got back and after checking prices ended up getting the Rays Outdoors special like Stew123.
Anaconda had the Premier on special for $179 (without the roasting rack) and then announced the 20% off sale which also applied to 'sale items'. Rushed to my local Anaconda and the 'sale special' on the Cobb had finished ! Went back to Rays and found that they had a 'Stimulus Special' discount of $25 if you spent over $200, so got the Cobb (with roasting rack) plus a couple of fishing lures for $175.
There is a forum on their website Welcome To Cobb International but it seems to have been spammed so you have to trawl through a lot of junk to find anything useful.
Won't replace a campfire and camp oven when bush camping but useful at home and in caravan parks.......

Can u add more heatbeads & get it hot enough 2 sizzle a steak???
Cheers Dean.
