Too cold/windy to light an outside fire here today,BUT the fire in the shed has been going flat out for 3 days:cool::cool::cool:
A mate called in this arvo for a beer saying how warm and cosy the shed was.
Andrew
Well got the door welded on, and I've had a change of plans with the top. I was on the roof of the new house and we found a BBQ grill leaning against the chimney. So I snavelled it up, welded some handles on and hey presto :D

Hi Binford
People put the grill over the chimney during the warmer months when its not used to stop birds nesting in there, bees and possums also can be unwanted chimney guests.Father christmas needs to keep an eye open for them.
I can imagine you thinking us aussies have a mixed grille up on the roof whilst the fire is going:p:p:p:p:p
Andrew
I think that must have been the case, there is now a new chimney so it wasn't needed for that purpose any longer
I had it cranking last night, went well even though it was ****ing down with rain and the wood was wet :( we had close to 4 inches over night
I didn't think to take a pic sorry, next time
And this thing cooks a mean steak :D
I'm happy with the handles in the grill too, they stick out far enough to not get hot. This makes it easy to lift on and off. Another advantage I found of the grill was you can boil a billy the same time you can cook your steak :)
Ahhhh..... That makes perfect sense! I light a wad of newspaper in our woodstove every few weeks to chase out with smoke any critters who might try to make my chimney their summer home. Works quite effectively and sure beats having to climb up my 10/12 pitch roof with the BBQ grill!
Happy grilling!
