    S3 LWB back body as a camper

    I have this idea of getting hold of a 109 hardtop body, remove the front guards etc to the bulkhead, (this becomes the draw bar area),hinging the top where the roof bolts to the side with a full length piano hinge down 1 side, a couple of gas struts to lift it up, canvas to fill in the gaps when its up.Take the windscreen out and plate the windscreen area to meet the roof, mount the whole lot on a chassis thats somewhat lighter than the original, say 75x75 box. Plenty of room for a bed, headroom, storage, and tankage. Has anyone done anything like this??

    I was had one that was already converted to a trailer,it actually towed really well.
    I sold it to member Tiny,he developed it further.Try sending him a PM for further info.

    Your just jealous DB!

    I PMed it to cooper beacuse if he was going to have a bid I didn't want to attract competition.

    I think the selling price was quite reasonable - obviously it didn't suit coopers taste in colours.

    It's back on e-bay, sale must have fallen through.
    I sent this fella an email last month and he forwarded a few more shots. Has no brakes and I think they are non-landrover wheels too. Nice looking set up.
