What are your recommendations for size of a solar panel.
It would be to recharge the camper battery and the car dual batteries when we are propped for a few days.
Solid or flexible type?
Would prefer to be able to put up inside windscreen for security purposes if away from the car walking for the day or something.
Any ideas of cost.
Amnyone like to loan me one for Sept 12 to Oct 3 2009?

I bought a solar panel whilst in Broome last year (optima battery had failed whilst on a trip so had to rethink our electrical arrangements), then sold it after we got home. The panel I bought was 80 watt, this was sufficient to run a 40l engel fridge in 40degree heat plus 2 fluoro camp lights, plus put some charge into the battery. I would not go anything less than 80watts- I spoke with a bloke in the campground at Windjana Gorge who had a 60watt panel, he said that he had found it not quite sufficient to run the fridge- had to run a genny to charge his batteries every couple of days.
Hey , thanks guys , especially you Weeds.
Great offer.
I was thinking along the lines of an 80 watt coz that is wattthe experts had told me.
