Another question/thought. Was thinking about putting a few drops of red Redex into the tank next time I use it, just to clean out the tube/burner.
Anyone done this?

I own a Coleman dual fuel stove and am very impressed by the thermal output of the unit. It seems way more powerful than gas cooking.
They are known as dual fuel as they will run on both unleaded petrol and solvent. Petrol is the cheaper alternative to run these on but can clog up the jet over time. I've been told to alternate one tank of solvent and then one tank of petrol to solve any jet clogging issues.

Never use genuine petrol in a stove. The refinery adds a number of quite nasty things to it to make cars run better: these are not good for your health. Things like lead (brain damage), benzene (serious carcinogen) and other more esoteric things. The term 'petrol' is used here solely as a generic. Use fuels such as Shellite, Coleman Fuel and other similar fuels sold by stove manufacturers. Most gear shops can provide this cheaply. I have tried using Heptane, which lies in the middle of the 'petrol range', but the lack of the more volatile components meant it wasn't all that good a fuel.

I used mine for the first time on the weekend, very impressed. We used it to cook for 6 people everything from risotto to pizza's to scones and most importantly the steaks.
I will never go back to gas and now I'm keen on one of the dual fuel lanterns for my next trip.

No problems with how they work and their efficiency, but... they should not be stored inside a vehicle for transport. I was halfway through a long NW trip, and ours started to leak. Not pleasant. Venting as you are supposed to did not stop it. Coleman customer service later advised the petrol/solvent models, should not be transported inside a vehicle. From that point on, no one at Coleman would repeat that. I eventually organised a swap for the gas only model.
The only other issue was carrying petrol when I was running a diesel vehicle.
So ok, but carry it on the roof. ( yes, not the best place for a tank of petrol, no matter how small )
