Some of the ARB ones seem to leak along the seam in the canvas. nothing sealant won't fix but not a good look on a new awning.
Regards,
Tote
I have a Polaris awning on my Disco and have been very happy with it.
I had it customized to suit my needs with zips for side walls to go on at a later date and the mounting points were made to suit my existing roof rack.
It is canvas which makes it very hard wearing but heavy. The only thing that I think they could improve on is the mounting points for the poles are flexible plastic and feel like they could break if you weren't careful.
In my opinion, they are great value for money.

I have the Hannibal one, Fantastic, very quick to put up, and well built, something that will last for many years..
schmez - interesting but yeah, expensive.
juddy - is it this one: Hannibal Safari Australia
how much for the awning ? the walls ?
Edit:
Found this local(ish) supplier:
http://www.dynamicsolarsolutions.com...mpingpg15.html
just on $900 for the awning... ouch.
(Nowhere near as expensive as the Hannibal roof top tents though... upwards of $3000 - holy moly !!! )

This is the one i have
Its the largest they do, cost $870, theres 2 type of walls you can get, one made from the same material as the tents ( and i think about $800 ) for a set, or a cheaper canvas type at 120 per side, we just one for the momment, and may end up making our own.
We looked at alot of awnings, and i know this ones big bucks, but it is well made, and will be around longer than other cheaper types, we liked the swing out arms, and the fact you dont have any guy ropes to trip over, you do get a couple of teascopic poles with, if you feel the need to make it more secure..
As for the tents, yep, very very expensive.....
Juddy how does it stand up to a stiff breeze ?
Also I;d like to know what roof rack you have there, as I need one for the front of my 130 as well ?

I can say it stood up very well, in the wind, as did the tent, no problems what so ever. and i think we had 75km winds. The racks a Hannibal one, its full length, but they do a small one just for the cab section, its the one that fits the 90.
They also do a rack for the single cab Defender too....not sure if this is it???
If you have a full length rack - whats the back part attached to ?

The full length awning sure looks small on the 130 rack.
Here's mine on the full length 110 rack...
