I was reading something on the Cooper site a while ago and apparently the tread chipping you and I get on the rear tyres is due to stones thrown from the front tyres. I was thinking of adding a mud flap in front of the rear tyres to reduce it. I have already fitted a small one to stop the body mount from filling with mud.Quote:

Doh! It's not that hard!!!!
The easy way to get the front ones off is to carelessly reverse park against a high curb in Balmain...this will neatly remove it and reveal the rust behind that used to be the footwell....:eek:

Slide knife along top of flap with other hand
Discard flap
Put stanley knife back

I know Coopers have had a lot of FLAK/bad press on this and they spent a lot of time with cameras etc finding out the real reason.
