G,Day mate
Go see Andrew at LRA. I have made up a few of my own body lifts in the past but when you see the kit you can get from these guys for the $700 odd dollars it costs I think it is worth it.
No problems with engineering and you get every thing you need and it is easy to fit (took a day the first time I fitted it, 3hrs to remove to get RWC and 4 hrs to fit the second time around, Im getting quicker at it LOL). Also lifts the front bar as well.
I can send some pics if you want to have a closer look.
Cheers Gavin
I fitted the body lift and other mods before changing reg into my name (should of waited but are well). I always had the intention of getting the car engineered but had to wait until I had finished all my mods. ( and I didnt think the SRS would give me such grief)
I was hoping that the RW tester wouldnt pick up on the fact that you cant fit a body lift to a car with SRS air bags (with out engineers cert). He didnt pick up on that point but picked up on the fact that 35" tires, 2.5" lift and 2.5" body lift equates to more than the legal 50mm vic roads approve. (thought I would try anyway)
So he passed the car bar the body lift and didnt pick on the other items so I thought the only way to get the car into my name and get the RWC was to pull the body lift, get the RWC and let vic roads look over the car. (as I said it isnt hard to remove and re fit 16 body blocks, 4 seat belt mounts, steering shaft extension and radiator spacers etc)
Once it was passed I got the plates , finished the mods and started on the engineers cert. It was cheaper and easier to get the engineers done once all the mods are finished, not half done (and as I have done all the work myself my labour is cheap.
If you use the right parts the engineers cert isnt had to get. (apart form the 35"s)
Cheers
They wont go for it here, will only pass 33" now. And the engineer wants me to have an EPA test done once the megajolt is fitted and tuned.
It has something to do with it being a mappable ignition system.
Dont have to worry about the high speed lane change test thank god. He has another test he dose with a G meter.
Cheers
