Heres some pics if the finished product.
After i took these i had to make a bracket to hold the air box up off the wheel arch ( mine had gone) , all fits & works well !! Now i just want to find a snorkel beanie to keep the dust out as much as possible !!

How have you connected the MAF to teh airbox and MAF to the throttle housing.
I found with mine( which has a Thor) that I had to have the complete length of the original hose between the MAF and aircleaner or the hose would come off the aircleaner from engine movement. I have my MAF connected to my Throttle body with ashort length of laminated teflon hoseand the original MAF hose between the MAF and aircleaner.
However I have found that on rough roads the engine moves around A LOT so you need a decent length of hose between them. I had duct tape around the hose and even that made it too stiff. It was only after removing the duct tape that the hose would stay on the air cleaner.

I just connected the air box directly to the housing that my pod filter was on.
I think that is the Maf & throttle body.
I have a rubber spacer between the steel connectors & my bracket to the wheel arch has rubber buffers.
I have only tested it in ourimbah so far & it seemed cool.
I can move it around a fair bit & it doesn't budge.
Hopefully that is ok up the cape !!
Otherwise some bush mechanics will come into play !!

3" aluminum tube, 45 silicone bends, customs brackets, bailey channel (Clark rubber)
pretty cheap to make, a little fiddle
still not finished needs more Matt black paint and some flexible home to hook up to the air intake
Now that its gone to efi, Id thought I'd share the current snorkel mods
I've painted it all black now, but the rest is the same.
only downside with this method is the air filter gets more dirty one one side
I know this thread is a little old but..
How would you plumb the snorkel differently for a carbie 3.5?
can you just run flexible hose from the bottom of the pipe onto the front of the air box for the carbies, and leave the original filter arrangement? (obviously having to step the diameter down somewhere along the way).
With the front part of the air intake removed (the useless bit in front of the air cleaner), you can plumb some flexible piping straight into the front of the air filter assembly. There are some pics somewhere on here of a carbied version with a clean air intake showing just that. Although I haven't done it on mine (Yet), that is the way I will be doing it.
