    If you want to save some bucks I, dont mind given a fellow forum member a hand fitting the body lift. I have fitted a few of the LRA body lifts and there not hard at all. We would knock it on the head in a day.

    Let me know.

    Ah! Mate I would love to say yes - but considering I still have my 89 blue RRC sitting in the carport with-out the engine I rebuilt in said carport , & having said engine still wrapped up sitting behind it - I think my house mate would be cheesed if I attempted it here - plus with my rangie having 2 x petrol tanks - one a sill tank & having 2 x LGP tanks - I think it would be a ***** of a job that I'd rather leave to Greg at AMV or the boys up at LRA Also I doubt I would have all the correct tools for the job which would create problems But seriously - in many ways - thank you very much for the offer
    When it comes time to drop the 3.5lt v8 back in the blue one to go stock mud racing or something hehehe different times!!

    Considering cost - I think I might end up going the ARB route on the condition I get it in writing that upgrading the CV's will not void my warranty & getting upgraded airlines & fixtures with it all.

    Leaves extra cash for the draw's from a place down in dandy & getting my rear wheel carrier on!! Thanks again guys for all the help - hope the thread helps out others thinking of the same thing.

    No problems mate.

    A mate who owns a panel shop fitted his body lift to his 98 Disco which was on gas and had sill tanks etc as well as being manual, he had hoist and it was still a pain.

    I did all the work on my 94 RR soft dash myself, as I am a marine mechanic by trade and I had spent a s*** load on parts I wanted to save some money. Heres a few pics of the body lift and lockers.

    I had LRA fit the lockers as I didnt trust my welding skills on a diff housing LOL. I did all the wiring for the lockers myself, nothing to it.

    mmmmmm!! That body lift kit looks very nice!
    I noticed the metal plate on top of the spring there - how high is that spring lift?

    The KAM locker looks very nice indeed! Since they mod it so much (The diff housing) would you say its very close to having new diff's put in (not including the crown & pinion) but much stronger?

    The suspension set up is the full White tiger 30% kit. Its about 2.5" lift over standard. The body lift is 2.5" and with the guard chop 35"s fit nicely. The front swivels have also been machined to correct the castor after I lifted it.

    The plate on top of the rear spring mount is the retaining plate for the rear dislocation cones.

    The only thing rover about the diffs is the housing .

    Cool - from memory the koni shock & king springs I have give a tad over 2", I am after the 2.5" body lift but more after 33's.

    Either way I'll have a think about it & weigh it all up - the KAM's are alot to get done - but you come out with stronger diff's over all - which depending on applicaion may be required. The diff locks I want will be used mainly in slippery conditions & on some rocky tracks - my project rangie however would make full use of the KAM's I think I am fairly well decided to keep my current rangie more setup for touring & medium to hard off roading

    If you have KAM c&p's, but rover diff internals, they can break and send bits into expensive KAM gears.

    If you have KAM locker, but rover c&p's, they can break and then send bits into expensive KAM locker.

    Expensive dilemmas, but best to keep whole diff strong

    Weak points would then be axles / cvs, but they are cheaper and easier to replace over diff bits! If you have uprated diffs / axles / cvs, what breaks next? Tailshafts? Thats why KAM have fuseable CV's......

    Goes on and on, all big bucks.

    I am just waiting till bits break then will replace with uprated gear. Trying to match driving style to rover strength haha. Many people are still going strong on OEM gear, can't be that weak surely

    JacMac diffs and your choice of uprated axles and CVs .Have run them previously on my Rangies and am ordering them again for my Defender.Have never heard of one breaking,or anyone with a bad word about how they perform,unlike the guy that makes them .Speaking to a few people that do a lot of modified diffs for a lot of the comp trucks up this way,the ARB locker apparently only engage on about 2mm of the splines,so a lot of load over a very small surface area?
    I know a lot of people run them without any problems,but there are a lot of destroyed ones out there as well.

    That applies to a lot of things not just diffs !!!!
    I know a lot of people that run stock Rover running gear,and don't have breakages.Driving style has a lot to do with it .
