I hear what you are saying, but it doesn't sound right.
On the few occasions that I have had one or more corners of the car in the air, I've wondered how those little clips managed to stop the springs from popping out. If those clips weren't there, I'm sure something bad would have happened.
The correct answer for a stock Rangie is that the shocks will limit the travel to prevent an inflated air-spring from falling out.
I had a stock Rangie once...
We are in accord.... even if the shock keeps an inflated spring in place, it may not be enough for a suddenly deflated one... (caused by a hard fault and the EAS having hysterics...)

Latest update & fix.
Arnotts offered to replace my front airsprings, thought they still reckon the clips are superfluous in normal running....
Anyway, Son #1 visited... and with the eternal optimism of youth, along with lots of brute force...as well as a very nice air-operated die-grinder being wafted near the axle mounts.... we managed to get the pins through far enough to mount the clips.
All is now well with the EH, and the ride, in highly technical terms is.. "Nicer" though difficult to explain exactly 'why'.
And very impressed with the fold at Arnotts, especially as they were so eager to replace the pair... - Seeing that they were so helpful (being a day behind us is a pain!) I reckoned we could make one last heroic attempt to save them/us the pain of two-way shipping.
...Its very nice to see the car remain inflated overnight!!!
Now to build in the 'Emergency Fill Valves' and mount them (neatly!) on the vehicle.
To be sure to be sure, I'm going to have an in-line tap between the valve-body black box and the Tee-Piece that splits to the airspring and Schrader valve. This will enable total isolation of the Black Box from each corner, should it fail catastrophically.

Well done James to you and your son getting your spring lugs sorted out. Maybe there is hope for my Number 1 Son one day?... as I spent most of the weekend changing the clutch plate on his car and then trying to align the bl**dy bell housing. Who'd of thought a Barina/Swift could be so fiddly? :mad:
It is very good to hear positive feedback about Arnotts customer service too. People tend to be quite vocal about the not-so-good experiences, but let the good ones slide. Thanks for sharing a good one. Not saying we should always celebrate good customer service... yes, we should expect it... is good to give some balance though.
IMHO, the easiest and tidiest spot to mount the valves for your "Emergency Fill Valves" is in the cargo area next to the Sub and CD stacker. That is where we recommend our EAS Bypass Kit is mounted. You could do something similar with a home-made kit... pic from a RRC install below:

Brilliant place for it... was in there Saturday night, replacing the EAS air-filter.
Pic attached, and the foam components is totally rotted, decayed and turned to powdery gunge. Naturally chucked it and the idea of perforated foam, and replaced it with some fibrous industrial air-filter material.- Just jammed it in there, will have significantly less resistance than the foam/felt pad combo.
Pic also of the area sans sub-woofer, and the lump of tape on the wiring is... the splices for the trailer socket. Of course this approach was better or cheaper than using the socket dangling down under the car.
You can see the red dust thats come in throught the floor plug, now with a hole throught which passes the trailer wires. - NOT sealed either.
Anyway, now that the suspension is working... sort of, (seems to spend a lot of time running the floor vibrator / air pump) - the Tacho suddenly stopped working, after the red BATTERY light came on and went out after a few minutes.
I have the feeling that 'LUCAS' the Prince of Darkness is about to strike me in the wallet, as retribution for repairing (instead of replacing) two of my windo switches.
