10 Spline to 24 spline with Diff Lock

I am planning upgrade my 1985 RR rear diff from 10 spline by putting in a diff lock and replacing axles with HD 24 splines. Anyone done this? Any tips, etc?

I did a similar upgrade to my RR, but I used a truetrac diff centre rather than a locker. The axles I used were JacMac ones, secondhand.

You can't just use Disco spec 24 spline axles as they won't be long enough.

If you go 24 spline arb center with maxi axles you will need carrier bearing cups as the 24 spline stuff is metric whereas 10 spline is imperial. You will also need to swap the metric arb carrier bearing ajuster nut for an imperial one from arb, I have also found you need to grind down the thread on the ajuster nut to get the air feed ring into its correct position. Good luck.
