As I said, the header tank, not the radiator. Look inside the downwards facing hose connector on the tank sitting on your inner mudguard. The copper tube is supposed to strengthen the plastic outlet. The tube falls out, travels down the hose into the radiator lower hose and is sucked into the water pump. Simple, really. Do you have one of the newer white tanks yet?Quote:

I'm sure I read somewhere that you undo it anticlockwise, have to check Rave again. I'll just hide in a corner for a few hours sucking my thumb if this isn't right lol
Its a left hand thread and undo is clockwise, at least it is on mine.

The viscous fan on my 88 model was a LH thread, and the one on my 94 model is a RH thread. The mongrels are hard enough to undo when you're turning them the right way!
Another helpful trick I remember is this- Take out the transmission cross member as suggested above, then re-hang it from the bottom holes- i.e. the top holes in the cross member are bolted to the bottom holes in the chassis rails. That way you can jack the transmission off the cross member rather than the floor, and you can move the car around once the engine is out with the transmission still supported off the x-member.
Also I have 2 different viscous fans. 1 has the 32mm nut (93 vbelt) and the other has the 36mm nut (94 serp) ahhhh. Rave states left hand thread but Rave also is refering to the latest 95 model softdash.
I had a small disaster myself.... I forgot to undo the 4 bolts from the ZF torque convertor and pulled it off with the motor which resulted in nigh on all the trans fluid ending up on the garage floor.
