    Errr.... no...

Exactly what you want to steer clear of.

Using Capitals, the difference between helping your Uncle Jack off a horse or helping your uncle jack off a horse...

Oooh, I see we're all in a helpful mood today.

I'll stick with the candles I've got. I just can't take any more of the minefield that is replacement parts.

Davo, understand perfectly.... its ALL about obsessing over..... LOW beam.!

Frankly, its easier to rely on spotties or light bars for HIGH beam, - when you really need some light.

You only get what you pay for...usually.

PS, maybe we should have a Great Headlight Shoot-out, take pics and comparisons etc under controlled conditions that can be replicated & repeated for when newer, brighter things come onto the market....

Yeah, it's getting to be a big headache these days. I couldn't even find the headlights on the Terrain site, and I've already got a few other parts orders in process, so I don't need more parts chasing. It's as if with anything you need you've got to give yourself a quick education in that particular sub-industry before you can even start looking for whatever the part is!

We're lucky up here in that there's not much traffic at night, so spotties are the way to go.

I'm sure that some 4wd magazine is at this moment doing a big "comparo" on headlights and then we'll have a perfectly reliable and unbiased result.

Do they still make Statesmans??? It's hard to tell - they look like everything else. (Sigh.)

If you must have HID on the front, here's the way to do it.

Taken with a phone-camera, and yes, it really IS that big ! $495 's worth of pencil beam.

PS, I know its a Statesman 'cos its got a label saying so....

We put authentic LR head lights on our '84 when getting it back on the road. Luckily we cracked one after our first trip & got Hella's instead (so much brighter), then put some nice Cibi's drivling lights on as we're trying to keep it as authentic as possible.

Do love the RR with the all those crazy driving lights on - would see you coming across the entire Nullabor!!!

Just a word on the Wipac crystals.
They have Polycarbonate lenses which I was able to discover after much digging.
They would probably be unsuitable for me as I run 130/100 bulbs.
