Nice - same colour as mine good luck with it - you will find this forum and its people the best resource (but you knew that already) and that alot of the things \ issues about a RRC is actually pretty simple.

Nice one! I bought a 90 model for my first 4wd - same bar and rear step too. Great truck: Stylish, comfortable and very capable off road as is. Family loves it and we've seen heaps of our beautiful country in it. Still have it and love it.

    Three things I've learned:

    1. Outside of regular servicing, *preventative* maintenance has been the key - perhaps start with replacing all the hoses, then think seriously about the water pump and radiator.

    2. If you're inclined to put the drop of oil into the shaft of the dizzy, ensure you secure the shaft from sliding up as you pull on the rotor button - just yanking it off may well result in hours of joy instead of minutes - there's a few posts on here and it happened to me.

    3. Genuine parts can be $$$$ but IMHO are well worth it - they got your truck to very nearly 22 years, trying to save money usually means buying twice and losing time, especially if you use it off road a lot.

Best wishes on many km's of adventure - that's a beautiful Rangie!

Very nice Rangie, and I love the colour. My 2nd 4x4 was a Rangie (1st was Landcruiser, I saw the light) and I still have a soft spot for them.

Also welcome to the forum. A wealth of info and a lot of top people here as well.

    Cool Nice Buy

    Very Nice Buy.

i would agree with Bidds here.

    Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance.

When my RRC found a new home with Me it new what I was intending to do.

    I started with the following.

    New Battery.
Replaced all globes and cleaned out all the light bulb sockets.
Got all the door lights working and also the two under the bonnet going again, just needed door switches cleaned.:-)
I then changed the motor oil and filter, then the next pay I replaced the gearbox and diff oils, the fuel filters and air filters were done also, I replaced the flame traps as there was a little oil coming out the dipstick, A BIG THANKYOU to Justin C for helping me to sort that one out

I have replaced and kept the old Hoses, Belts, Spark Plugs, Distributor Cap and Rotor button, leads, I have in that time also purchased a Hand Held UHF as well as some recovery gear, Bit by bit week or fortnight at a time I allwas try to replace something I can afford at the time on my RRC.
Thermostat and Radiator cap have also been replaced.
Windscreen wiper rubbers fron and rear, Other mods I have made are twin/duel batteries, Driving lights, GPS, Cup holders x 2 on the fron console, one holds my DSLR and the other holds my coffee cup,

The other fluids i have replaced are the brake fluid and the clutch fluid.

After being offroad I always spend plenty of time washing it and when it is dry I climb under and look for anything that does not belong or something out of place.

My Diff seals will be next followed by all brake pads
    Cheers

    PS
I have attached a photo of my first RRC 1974 two door Very very good RR But I did make a mistake :-) on this bridge
