    Hay all,
Asking if p38 or disco steering wheels fit range classics?

The P38A wheel has an airbag. What would you do with that?

Why ? - you'd be getting a smaller diameter wheel... and a useless airbag.

    Disable airbag,
Newer wheel with buttons on it that I can use and yep slightly smaller but the biggest thing is just a newer more modern design.

You might want to check with the authorities. It might be that if you fit it, it will be required to work.

Why not just get another standard Rangie steering wheel. There is a few floating around on EBay or just order a New one through a Rangie Dealer. I just got a new one sent across from England for $250.00 AUS...

Time for me to chuck a spanner in the works...

    - Before you get too enthusiastic, you might want to check the size of the hole...where the wheel mounts to the shaft wot pokes out from the steering column... And count the splines too. Even have a look at the size of the splines...

My '95 Classic can't take any other bigger/better, non-airbagged LR wheel that I know of, previous models have difFeRANt sized holes/splines. Pity, 'cos its (ergonomically speaking) too small a diameter for my liking.

I understand its possible to replace the whole shaft...which starts to get Too Hard.

    Just a thought...

I did'nt check the P38's or later vehicles, as I wanted an older (NON air-bagged) larger diameter wheel for freeway/open road cruising. The previous model, ('93?) no bag but with Cruise Control buttons would'nt fit due to spline differance...

I've stopped worrying as I don't use it much these days.
