    P76 V8 for RRC question

    Hello chaps

I've snuck over from the D3/D4/RRS forum with a question I'm hoping you might be able to help me with. A mate of mine in the UK is after a 4.4 P76 V8 engine for his Classic, he builds some fantastic V8's (he's a small independant LR specialist) and now I've relocated out here has asked if I can find him one. I know they also came in the Leyland Terrier trucks as well as this P76 thing, but finding just an engine is proving a challenge. I don't suppose anyone here would know 1) where's a good place to look and most importantly I guess is 2) how much to pay for one ? I'm not fussed on whether it's a runner or not as it'll get fully rebuilt before he fits it to his Classic.

Bear in mind his Classic currently runs about 280bhp and his D2 350bhp (whilst both being scarily economic on fuel) and I think you can see where the P76 engine will end up (if I can find one)

    Cheers
    Mike

They show up about the place all the time. Depends what condition you want one in, by the sounds of it its going to be fully rebuilt anyway.

If its just about power why not just go the 4.6 with a stroker?

Apparently he can build it to about 7 litres quite easily and really wants to do a P76 engine as a showpiece for his own Classic. The stroked 4.6's he builds quite regularly.

Thanks for finding that one, I hadn't even seen an area of Aus Ebay purely for V8 engines. That one's a bit far away, I'll keep an eye out for ones in Vic. Cheers.
