33-pin or 35-pin? The ABS ECU is under the LH seat but it has a 35-pin connector.
Did the '89 model have ABS? If so, has it been removed?

Thanks for all your help, I,m going follow the wires and see if I can locate a serial number on the alloy housing. Seems it be a very expensive looking bit of kit not to be pluged in?
Kind regards to all.:)
Let you know what it is when I do!
Hi Greenie
If possible write down the colours on the wires and post here.
As the colour (and it's trace) on each wire, is specific to a particular function.
Most Land rover models use the following codes;
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ __________________________________
B__Black________Earth wire from a component to an earth tag. Black with a trace colour is also usually an earth wire but the earth is switched by a control unit.
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ __________________________________
G__Green_______Ignition fused supply from passenger compartment fusebox: clock, instrument, indicators, electric mirrors.
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ __________________________________
K__Pink_________Fused supply: central door locking.
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ __________________________________
LG_Light Green___Ignition auxiliary fused supply from passenger compartment fusebox: reverse lamps, brake lamps.
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ __________________________________
N__Brown_______Battery supply - to ignition switch from fusible link.
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ __________________________________
O__Orange______Fused supply: central locking.
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ __________________________________
P__Purple_______Fused supply - to interior lamps, radio cassette, clock, anti - theft alarm, electric aerial.
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ __________________________________
R__Red_________Fused supply: side lamps.
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ __________________________________
S__Slate_(Grey)_Fused supply: electric windows.
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ __________________________________
U__Blue________Fused supply: headlamps, cooling fans.
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ __________________________________
W__White______Ignition switched supply to passenger compartment fusebox.
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ __________________________________
Y__Yellow______Ignition switched supply to passenger compartment fusebox.

Ahar!
It is 35 Pin not 33 and looks as though it is a disconected ABS ECU.
Now to find out why it has been disconected? :(
Gota love exploring an new car.
Does you RR have the ABS module under the bonnet ??
