    3-pin ignition modules

Hi I have decided to do a freshen up of the ignition system of 88 classic. I just bought a 3 pin ignition modual to replce the old original 2 pin type. So my question is what 2 pins are needed to go to the coils terminals. Obviously one will be spare, maybe to go to the ECU in a haltec system or other newer sytem. but want to be sure.

    Thanks
    Will.

Middle is vacant. Crimp the two original wires with the pins supplied and test run - if no go swap them over and try again. Then insert fittings into holder and finished

Are you converting to the bosch system, as per Beeuteys tutorial?

Yup, read them all and think it is a great mod to do. I will do it when i fit a new motor, current engine just doesnt want to die. I figure , if the car is 25 years old and with over 300k on the clock and running the original stuff it can't be too bad either. the only reason I have replaced the plugs, leads, rotor, disy cap and ignition amp with Lucas stuff is the car has never missed a beat Back fired or cut out until now! And the parts were free!. It Only hesitates and misses occasionally and runs rough after driving through water. I found the rubber gasket had perished on ignition amp causing this so now that it is all replaced I can completely hose the engine now. And no rough running for a few days after a wash, degrees and weekend of play in the mud. The car feels great now and has more poke from the lights no complaints here. I know It would be probably better with the bosh upgrade but if it ain't broke don't fix it.

    thanks
    will.

Mine was running perfectly well on the original style ignition system.
I installed the bosch upgrade and it went even better. More mid range torque, better fuel economy.

Not doing the upgrade is a false economy.
