Yep - that's the sort of thing I will be after - saw one online just last week, and it almost fits the bill perfectly. The only problem with one that goes into a standard receiver is that the ARB rear step bar has an angled receiver, so I would need to modify it or make something different. I have a mate that is a steel fabricator so I should be able to sort something out. I have to get him to build a front mount anyway so I'll make it work. When I get around to this, I'll start a new thread and post all the details.:)

I had a bad engine fire start by bad wiring of the second battery from the previous owner. The main connecting positive ran across the alternator then across the block to air con compressor and then to the second battery. the vibrations from the engine wore through the insulation, engine in earthed so sparks and fire ensured. After this i re-ran the wire without it touching moving parts. I sold the car 6 months later but didn't experience any issues in that time.

I've got an ARB step with the same angled receiver as well, which I hadn't thought about. A thread would be great when you do it.

Happykid, I remember your fire - glad you could save the car. I've got a Traxide setup in mine at the moment but didn't put in the recommended circuit breakers because I didn't know to order them at the time. So, I really should get onto that.

Get onto that - don't leave it until it is too late. Apart from my main battery cables, everything on mine has at least 2 fuses along the way - I have several fuse panels that run lights, fans, etc and the factory panel and apart from each final circuit having an appropriate fuse, the fuse panel supplies are also fused with a maxi in line fuse, so if I get a short on the fuse panel supplies or the final circuits, I'm covered. Next on my list is some mega fuses on the batteries themselves, then I'm all done.

I also keep 2 x fire extinguishers on board as well - told you I'm anal about this sort of stuff...:p
