Back in the 1980s and early 1990s, I had 3 different P76 4.4 taken out to 5 litres, all unreliable and thirsty on petrol. All up I would have spent $60,000 on the three engines.
The best thing I did was to remove the last (and most reliable) of them and fit a 4.6 with Motec ecu over the standard Rover injection manifold.
