What about D1 or D2 seats, AFAIK they just bolt in, which means they're legal.

Just be careful with car seats, as I recall Rooth fitting some which collapsed on (under) him as they are not stressed for 4WD.

As long as you've got seatbelt reels attached to the pillars.

The 2-doors have the reels mounted in the seats.

Mine is a 4 door, and the belt is bolted to the seat as well - not sure if yours are, but if so, you would be hard pressed to get the engineered I would think - it is a lot harder than it used to be.

Also, you would loose your arm rest... I wouldn't want that personally...

4 door yeah pillar mounted..... now

yeah might look at disco seats, not a huge fan & I don't like the arm rest. yeah i'm a bit wierd.

I'd just prefer a supportive (bucket) seat which is still comfortable on long trip.

I was looking at imprezza seats (cheap) cause there cheap-ish and comfy & shoudl be heaps around as many would change to bride, recaro or been used in a ram raids..

Measure the space you've got in the Classic before you get too enthusiasitc, - with the door closed.- The lack of width will limit you from some of the better Jap seats ...

Thinning out the centre-console may be an option...

Dunno what you mean about arm rests in D1/2 seats, only the ES and SE respectively have them. Should be able to get a nice set of seats without the arm rests that will bolt in, and you'll find the Disco seats to be very bucket like to the Range Rover's lounge chairs.

    Cheers

Wot Range Rover has 'lounge chairs' ?
Not that I've found my Classic seats uncomfortable, Quite the opposite but they're seats you sit 'ON' and not 'IN', - by any stretch of the imagination.

Jap luxury cars invite you to sit 'IN' the seats, differant type of support, not necessarly worse/better, a personal preference more likely.

But the (olden days) Renault 16 seats.... Shoe-horned one into my '74 PASSAT. - Made it a civilised car to drive...

'95 RRC Vogue SE, Working air suspension and leather seats... & sunroof worked today :-))
