    Interior Lights 94 Soft dash

    Hi all

Wondering if anyone would know where the relay is located for the interior lights on my 94 soft dash. The switch on the doors do not turn them on but when I manually press the light switch they work fine. Would say it would be stuffed relay?

    Cheers

    G'day Camo

If the lights come on when you press and release the switch manually, then there is a good chance that the switch earth is poor, those switches only use the retaining screw as the earth,so I would suggest that you remove the switch (wire spade terminal is vertical) clean the switch contacts with fine wet/dry paper, and re-assemble,if the screw is loose in the door pillar, use a slightly larger self-tapper, I had to do all 4 of my switches on my 85 RRC,those switch designs go right through to Disco 1 &2 from memory
the only relay is the timer-delay relay for turning the interior lights off.when the master switch is set to curtisey.

P.S. It is not unknown for the screw retaining the vertical contact to split the plastic plunger of the switch so handle it with care.

    cheers

    Hi,
not sure about the Classic....but on the P38, if you hold the interior light button down you should hear a tone. This turns the auto feature on and off.

I found this out in the manual, when I had the same problem....kids playing with switches!

    Hope it helps
    Cheers

Cheers for that. I forgot to mention when I press the door switch in you can here a click somewhere.. sort of like a relay not working. The light doesn't go on with any of the doors so I guess it wouldn't be the switches?

Can't find anything in the workshop manual

Have you fitted LED globes to your lamps?

Looking at the ETM, the door switches activate via a multi function unit.

This is located behind RH side of fascia on Fascia Fuse Box.
