    Diesel into a Classic

Can anyone out there suggest a diesel that could go into a 2 Door classic?
Want to change over from a 3.5 to a diesel but wondering if anyone has done it and what are the pro's and cons? Happy to keep the 4 speed but wouldn't hesitate in a 5 speed.

    Thanks

    Jock

I've got a 77 model with an isuzu 4bd1t matched to the original 4 speed. Does have an overdrive though for better highway cruising. There are a few people with this engine in their classics check the isuzu section for more information.

Isuzu motor and gearboxes are getting harder to come by and you would need to factor in a gearbox rebuild

Plenty of 300tdi autos around, this would be my choice if I had a range. Just need to convince my neighbor to sell me his

Shouldn't need to rebuild the lt95. Difference between the 300tdi and the Isuzu, is the 300tdi is gutless

I had a classic which I put a 2.8 litre isuzu out of a NPK truck. Same engine as fitted to MU and rodeo. Turbo charged. I intercooled it with a water cooled intercooler out of a Subaru WRX! Ran the LT95 and was a good truck, had it for ten years and sold it. Attached photo.
