Anyone who has used a tirfor in anger would never suggest you could use one to extract an RRC [forwards] from that. Unless you used an octuple line pull and had a week to spare.Quote:

Whoa hang on a min! I haven't been going out alone because I'm snobby or anything, been going because I've only been in Australia a few months and I still only know one other person who has a 4x4! He doesn't want to come out ever so been left with the choice of stay at home and twiddle my thumbs or go out and accept the fact that if I get stuck ill end up sleeping the night there.....not like I'm going to die sleeping in the car! It's not exactly cold over here and I spent 3 months sleeping with just a sleeping bag in the snow in Utah a few years back so if I need a fire I can always do the rubbing 2 sticks together trick and live to see another day.Quote:

Didn't have any wheels spinning at the time, would get about an inch of a turn from the wheels but that was it whilst we were stuck. It goes well otherwise and ligh come on when in lock so I'm guessing I'm stuck in high range at the moment?
Nope got that wrong!
As you can see from the pic I am without the lever knob so it's been guesswork for me.
Googled a lever and up is low, middle is neutral, down is high.
So if I get stuck in some mud I want to be in low and locked so up and to the left yes?
Normal road driving I want to be in high and not locked correct?

Rarely travel too far as day time I'm tied up with tafe and evenings I'm working to pay for my tafe course! But if I am in your area I shall deff give you a shout!
Shall look out for a turfer, are they the only decent brand around?
I like the idea of them more than a winch thinking about it as means I won't have to buy another bullbar with one of those. May need to bulk up though as I'm only lil and don't think my skinny arms will be able to pull the handle if its got the weight of the RR on it!

They can also be used to pull your rig backwards.
Front mounted electric ones mean you have to be draged through fowards.
I should add you'll need good recovery points fitted too.
First things first.
Get a knob for your transfer lever so you can see what it does without having to remember.:)
