I thought they were all screwed on, not welded. We had a 92 model which was screwed on.

I am pretty sure they never welded the roof onto classic rangies. My 1992 model has a screw on roof. ( although I have glued it on with Sikaflex)

You may be thinking of when they welded the frame together rather than bolting it together, and I think that was 1988. My 92 has the radiator support panel welded in.

I've never heard of a classic with a roof that was welded on, they just unbolt.

A LR enthusiast told me the easy way to fix my sunroof was to unbolt the roof, for easier access... - The point being made was that it was possible to do so.

    Not that stupid.

Couple of minutes to cut the pillars vs a very long time to undo LOTS of bolts and split the sealing compound holding the roof to the frame without damaging it.

I believe it should providing the 93 is not a LSE model ie the long wheel base.

Thanks every one, the reason lm wanting to change roof is because its had the factory roof rack on it and some one has un screwed and filled the holes and l reckon it be easier to replace the roof for what they are worth
