    cheapest body lift kit

Hi, what is the cheapest body lift kit, for say a 2 1/2 inch lift. My disco has one that cost $870-- not counting springs and shocks, while I googled this and found one reduced from $2900-- with springs and shocks.

So as I need to lift my 91 RR see post 22 to 24 on http://www.aulro.com/afvb/isuzu-land...version-3.html for the reason why I need a body lift.

I was searching for a cheap but good kit, without springs and shocks. Think I may have some springs that gave 2 inch spring-lift and am thinking they may suit, if these did not go with a RR we had sold.

need something that will not fail though.

There is some misunderstanding here. A BODY lift is just that - lifting the body (usually using solid metal spacers). The suspension remains untouched. So a body lift will not contain springs and shocks.

Where will the vehicle be registered? In QLD the max is 2" body lift, and you have to obtain prior approval from QT and have the vehicle inspected by them.

You can make your own body lift. You just need someone with a lathe and some solid bar to turn up some spacers, and then buy some longer body bolts (Class 8.8).

One of the better body lift kits is the LRA White Tiger kit:

the RR is to be rejestered in NSW. Our disco was bought from the AULRO markets with an unapproved body lift, and no RWC as we purchased in in Queensland.

But we had no trouble getting it approved with a Blue Slip in NSW. They did not care about the lift kit.

Yes I was aware we could makeour own spacers, but thought there was more in it. Looking at the prices of that kit Scouse mentioned, we may have to make our own.

I've made my own now for 3 classics, due to diesel transplants.
Yep buy some 40mm or 50mm aluminium (in keeping with RRC?) or steel solid rod; longer body bolts. You may also have to extend transfer case lever, depending on how high. AND from memory watch the rear centre seatbelt mounting bolts? Not absolutely certain as long time ago Up behind the transfer case. I know I had to lengthen something there!
Easy to fit: do all one side of car at a time, with all body (bolts) nuts removed to allow movement.

I put this kit in my disco a few years ago. Should be able to get it landed for under $400. Still had to adjust steering shaft and bumpers.

I did think this was a more reasonable price for a body lift kit. All those kits between $800-- and $2900-- did not appeal to us.
