    Bosch Alternator for 93 Classic

    Hi

I am looking to replace the original 80 amp alternator with a suitable
    Bosch unit.
Can anyone supply a part no that will fit?.
Original has serpentine belt for alternator, all other belts are V belts.

    Thanks
    Mocky

Take your old alternator to an auto sparkie, see what he has in stock. Almost any Bosch alternator can be adapted to that mount, however you will need to swap the pulleys over for the RR one. (and wire the tacho connection if not fitted.) A friend of mine purchased a new universal 120 amp Bosch alternator for his RR, it had a tach connection on it already, took a bit of work on the mountings.

I cannot give a part number but it is the alternator for around a 90-91 Magna which has the mounting feet at 90degrees to the adjuster, near enough to the RRC.
It usually has a multi rib pulley also but it is AFAIR wider than the strange RRC heath robinson affair, and maybe bigger diameter which will affect the tacho.

I had to find another pulley for my V belt Bosch as the Lucas/Magnetti Marelli pulley was a sloppy fit.
