Parts for early Rangies
Hi All,
Just joined up and am looking at buying an early 2 door Range Rover. I think it's around the '78 mark and was just wondering what the parts availability on these beasts is?
In terms of mechanical work I'm no stranger to the world of spanners, I've been working on Mini's, Citroen's, Peugeot's and a number of other cars for most of my life so I'm looking forward to tackling a bigger bit of British engineering.
I know, however, that work can easily be stopped by parts that are no longer available or hard to get. Just wondering if there is a healthy market in parts for the classic Range Rovers or whether it's a matter of hen's teeth for a set of brake pads for instance.
I'll hopefully be jumping into the world of Range Rovers very soon and would love any information or experience you guys have!
I probably should also mention that I'm located in the North Eastern suburbs of Melbourne too.
Cheers,
Steve

Mechanical/electrical parts are easy to get through the Land Rover parts specialists (they know the cars better than your average parts shop).
Trim & body parts are another matter but 2nd hand stuff is around if you know where to look.
