    What's it worth?

    Hi guys
I just found this rangie for sale and am wondering if the price is about right. Also what should I be looking for when I do an inspection?

i just brought a 93 defa sight unseen due to a excelent price.
so faults i have found would be similar rust in chassis front and back
broken speedo, burnt oil in trans, oil leaks in swivel trans dif engine.
wear in top swivel pins leaking pas box wear in suspension points and aframe ball. then just normal wear parts like rod ends brake pads and adjustment seats belts cracked windscreen.

As well as what everyone else says...

-give the electric windows a good workout... you're looking for intermittant operation particularly the rears., and mis-alignment of the glass... - the channel supporting it rusts out and the window can pop up/out/fall down inside the. Vertical channels also rust.

Fabric seats, IMHO are more comfortable than leather. Cheaper to re-cover if needs be.

One thing that concerns me... the transfer case knob looks like mine, H-N-L only, (no 'Diff Lock positions ) but the pic is'nt the best. I thought the 89 model still used the LT 230.

Possibly a replacement knob... or a BW trasnfer case. - In which case (sorry, weak pun) the operation of the Viscous Coupling needs to be thoroughly checked. You're looking at around $850 for parts alone.

Look for rust in the sunroof metalwork. Also the inner shield runs on 4 plastic slider/locater feet. They may be dying of heat exhaustion or old age by now, and the broken bits can jam the glass track mechanism.

    Don't ask how I know.....

The top tailgate looks like its still in one piece. Rusting away and dis-assembling itself is not.....'unknown'.

Real bonus if the Cruise Control (if fitted) still works... Mine is exceptionally smooth. - Almost matches my old Crown.
