Very early on I chickened out of using the fob, as IF it dies after you've locked it, you can only physically unlock the doors, - but not switch off the immobiliser. - that last bit is a worry...:o
- So I take the safer option and use the key.
However, I'm having some door-actuator problems now. First off, the main 15A fuse blew a few times. I reckoned it was the LH Rear actuator (sounded slow to move) so I disconnected it. Problem seemingly solved.
The LH Front door snip now comes all the way up (unlocks) whereas previously I've had to lean across and lift it up that last 1/4 mm, usually ...
But now my RH rear actuator appears to have died... Maybe co-incidence, maybe not.
I've read somehwere on this or another forum that the units are 'underpowered' for the load and therefore failure is not uncommon. They certainly don't sound as fast as some other - cheaper - vehicles....
My tailgate one is working properly, but the internal mechanism is so rusted out that I've always had to manually lock.unlock it.
Using the key, mine flashes indicators once for UNLOCK, and three times for LOCK
