So I'm digging up an old thread as I'm approaching this problem from the other angle - moreso, I'm 'fine-tuning' what I've got. I get the impression the previous owner/s of 'the beast' did a little bit of 'sounds like a good idea' or 'well it seems like it would be good' modifications to the car. e.g. Holley Pro-Jection with independent (not holley) ECU (Wolf v4x)... good in theory, but let down by the pro-jection system - possibly due to age.
Anyway - Basic question - should I remove the body lift?

The beast has a 2" suspension lift, cut guards and a body lift. Body lift appears to be a cheapo (possibly part home made) deal, which doesn't seem to add much value, other than raising the centre of gravity. The suspension lift probably needs the springs to be refreshed and I've recently installed shocks with a 2" extension. Suspension travel seems fine - the last trip to toolangi resulted in a rear shock partially dislocating!
I also run BFG M/T 33x10.5 with twin maxi lockers - so would like to keep this setup...
Thoughts?

Looks like front and rear bars modded for the body lift, so may be a bit of work to remove.
Check for tyre clearance at full articulation, which is really the sole purpose of the body lift anyway.

Hmmm... that's interesting. Didn't consider the front/rear bars and now I'm confused. I replaced the rear bar recently and it came from a bog standard 4 door...
I can't see how the bars could attach differently, so I'm thoroughly confused!

I would remove suspension lift before body lift.
Cog and geometry will be better , you will be able to drive faster and break stuff sooner and upgrade it sooner, so you will end up with a better vehicle in a shorter time span.
The heavy stuff is bolted to the chassis, the heavy stuff in the body is only the glass.
