Megasquirt II Extra + Bosch Gen III injectors with extra o ring + EFI Hardware TPS replacement on a 4.6
Gets rid of: MAF and Distributor and 14CUX
Adds: complete control over fuel and ignition + wideband O2 sensor
BUT needs a fair bit of time to wire it all up - nothing difficult as you get the loom but you need to terminate all the wires - time consuming. Just got back from a 3 week trip to Fraser Island, all up about 5,000Ks average consumption was 14.2L/100Ks. The Megasquirt has been in the rangie for 40,000Ks now and zero problems. I noticed that too when I tried to trial fit injectors without grooves. The none grooved would likely drop out of the rail if installed without clips. But I found a yellow injector type with grooves and ordered these instead. With these grooved ones I advise only a single bottom O-ring should be used so that the position is secured only by the clip. That way there is some flexibility in how the injector can glide in the manifold when the fuel rail is tightened down. With two bottom O rings then when the fuel rail is tightened down the top clip might end up taking all the force on pressing down the injector onto that 2nd bottom O ring which can have the top clip in the long run take some beating from engine vibration. I suggest better for longevity to run a single O-ring at the bottom in that case so that the injector is not constantly pressed onto the manifold with the the top clip taking all the force. With no "axial" force constantly pressing down on the injector things are in more harmony :) Also good to keep in mind the top O ring and clip is the critical components for retaining the 2.5 kg fuel pressure while the lower o ring deal with sealing the much lower pressure/vacuum intake area.
The ones with the groove are generally called gen11 and are physically bigger than the gen111.i had a set of gen 11 for about 100k then boughtbgen111 without realizing they had no groove.
Despite what people say the gen11and gen 111 yellows are both 4 hole and identical outputs etc.
So look closely at the eBay photo.
