Yeah I could probably make up an adapter and plug in a cheapo oil pressure gauge. It appears the sender is leaking, and it doesn't seem to work no matter how much air pressure I blow into it. My experience is that if they are leaking they are most likely stuffed (even if the leak itself isn't bad enough to cause a problem). I think the leakage is a sign that the oil is getting past the diaphragm or whatever is meant to move with the pressure, and therefore it never moves and the switch never opens.
Again - not familiar with the rover V8 ones but if they are a standard sort of sender they are easily available at any auto parts place - even SuperCheap/Autobarn etc have them.
