Of all the dirty, stinking, noisy, crude things to do.
Honestly if you want a diesel in a Range rover.......you cant afford to run it so buy a D2 Td5 (great car). Im biased and admit it.
Go out for a drive in an L322 V8 a good one (dont mess about with one that some cheap skate has run into the ground) come back and tell me that it isnt a magnificent machine.
If you drive all the RRs from start to current model you can feel the evolution in each newer variant, when I get into an L322 I can feel the P38 grinning through.
At the end of the day it will cost you a small fortune to run any of these Marques, and its got bugger all to do with it being an oil burner or on Gas or petrol its all the other things that cost the money.
