They can have a long life if basic rules are followed, such as tyre pressures, replacing all 4 at the same time, being nice to it.
I'm just biased 'cos mine failed at less than 150K, and differant tyre-heights and oDd pressures were factors.
But the PO had it 'serviced' by a back-yarder who oversaw the total destruction of the radiator and EAS pump failure in less than 70k
This car was originally owned by a company I worked for, it was the directors car. Then he bought it and kept it at his holiday home. Perfect first and second owner behaviour, but before I got it some clown broke in, stretched the steering wheel into an oval to remove a club-lock and smashed the steering column covers and lock to steal it.
Which was enough damage to scare off any other buyers and keep the price down.:D No it wasn't me. I have an alibi.
