    Long Wheel Base LSE?

Hi guys I've been out of Land Rovers for nearly four years after selling my D2 TD5 now have the bug to jump back in. I have my heart set on buying a Classic Rangie that's close to original condition and building it up into a capable tourer over time. I've always liked something about the look of a Classic Range Rover. It will be more of a Sunday drive and trip car so I'm not worried too much about fuel consumption as this won't be a daily drive.

My question being the long wheel base LSE? In challenging off road situation's are they disadvantaged over normal Classic's as in rear ground clearance? I found this to be the case with my D2 compared to other D1's when out on trails. Also please keep in mind I'm not really wanting to do any extreme lifts hence the reason for my question.

Also guys might have a few more silly questions as I'm just starting my research stage.

not tried one myself but the wheelbase is only 7 inches longer and it should have air suspension which you can raise when needed.

Having owned an LSE for a couple of years now I can honestly say the extra length does not inhibit off road performance, other than turning circle.

The rear end is exactly the same as the standard 4 door, the extra 8" is in the rear doors so it does not affect approach angle or departure angle, well not anything noticeable. I had a 2 door before the LSE and the 2 door was great fun. The LSE is better.

Check out the pic attached, they are pretty good off road.

    Here's a couple.
The rims are standard disco steel rims so I was told but they fit fine
16" rims, the tyres are listed as 32" but have very deep tread they seem more like 32.5 or something like that. These are my play set.
I put the originals back on for going to work.
The arches where already trimmed by the previous owner.
Its probably has something "like" a 2" spring lift but this is debatable as it used to have airbags as you know. I don't know what the extended/max height is originally so I cant say for sure on the lift.
Its not too high though. When I got it it also had a 2" body lift and 33"s. Too wild a ride on road at speed for me !
Just about the right height now I think.

Yup - but I wasn't going to correct peewee's only 7", was just having a laugh about the long LSE concept! It would be good for touring though!
