It has a solenoid petrol cut off when on LPG, but even so the pump still ran.

That is what I had in the back of my mind, I just didn't want to go overlloading a solenoid switch feed wire by putting a pump on it! But if you reckon its OK, then certainly it is.

Most carby type gas changeover switches can handle a bit more than just one petrol solenoid as they are already switching 3-4 solenoids (up to 5 amps) on the gas side. A carby fuel pump doesn't draw that much current.

Thats it? WTF I was looking for something with about 10 fuses in it. No wonder the wiring fails LOL I haven't had a chance to re investigate the location today due to work:mad: but at least now I know what i am looking for!

Hee hee! Yup, welcome to vintage motoring. I've actually got a loose connection there that would cut out all the things that keep the engine running, like the ignition and the fuel pump. I used to be able to wiggle it and then it would be fine, and it hasn't acted up in a couple of years. But since I'll be pulling the dash apart, I suppose the smart thing would be to replace the fuse box with a bigger one . . . oh, well. :)

Well, I found the fuses! Was behind a panel on the dash that I thought was a blank for a radio or something! Also, I have rewired the fuel pump from the petrol cut off solenoid as "authorised" by Bee Ute :p Now it is better than previously as the pump isn't running when on gas!.

Interesting. So you've got an early model from when they changed over? Do you have the original type of instrument binnacle, or the next one where there's a big tacho and speedo?
