You can fit 245 75 16 if you cut the bolt out from the rear guard at 12 oclock and trim the flange that runs from 12 oclock to the front behind the doors.
Lift is really not relevant unless you fit bigger bump stops as the finish point of suspension travel remains the same.
BUT 31 x10.5 x15 are flotation tyres not really suited to a RRC. You must have had to wind out the steering stops quite a bit to stop hitting the leading arms! Must be fun in car parks.
Sometimes it is better to research before rather than after.

If you have offset rims with the 31/10.5/15's you shouldn't need to adjust the steering stops, at least I didn't. Fitting 285/75/16's on standard D1 rims on the other hand rub on both locks and touch in places on the rear, even with the cutting mentioned.
Fitting a body lift is relevant as it gives more clearance between the tyre and body.
Its what I inherited when I bought it! I just replaced the old tyres with new ones the same size, never thought to change the sizes! They are fitted to sun-raiser rims, not standard. Tyres and wheels are not my strong point, but gees she seems to go anywhere I point her on them :)Quote:

To be legal they have to have load rating 109 AFAIR.

Tyre placard on my Rangie stated minimum load rating of 825kg...so a load index of 101 to be legal. Factory fit Michelin 205R16's S244's have a load rating of 104 (900kg)
Most 31x10.5r15's have a load rating of 109 (1030kg).
Mind did scrub a bit on the rear, I have 1" bumpstop spacers fitted to stop them hitting as a short term fix. No issues with them touching on the front.
i too have tyre rubbing problem on my 1984 rangie. i have 225x75x16 tyres on standard rangie steel rims. the bump stops are good but the suspension is a little sagged, good condition bump stops should stop tyres rubbing, the tyres im using are only about 15 mm diameter bigger and 20mm wider, so i will be trimming the gaurds soon. from peter.
Where are they rubbing? I run that size and they don't touch anything.Quote:
