Clutch will not bleed

I can sympathise with your problem. I just had exactly the same problem on my D2. I ended up getting a syringe style oil pump that holds about 250ml. I drained the brake fluid below of the clutch master cylinder, then removed the hose and attached it to the oil pump ensuring no air.
I than had my able assistant open the bleed screw on the slave cylinder and forced fluid through. Had to open the bleed screw quite a bit.
Then just before the pump ran out of fluid closed the screw and refitted hose.
This was after I had tried, almost successfully, using a pneumatic vacuum to suck the fluid through (it worked, but there was still some air in there somewhere)

The bleeder screw has a hole in the center with a intercepting hole at 90 degrees .Unscrew it right out clean it out with a bit of wire so you can blow thru it (tastes nice) screw back in attach tube to jar back out 3/4 turn give a couple of quick pushes on pedal and it should syphon thru. I have tried about 4 different suction and vacume pumps and they never worked or worked somewhat, the washer motor worked every time.

if the wiper motor doesent push fluid up then you have a blockage somewhere,

I got pedal! After all the suction devices and considering disassembling my window washers. I got pedal. Guess how?

I got a pole about 800mm long pressed it on the clutch pedal, jammed it against the drivers seat and opened the bleeder on the slave. I then closed the bleeder took the pole out and put it back the same way. I continued to do this until i got a small amount of pedal feel. Once i got pedal i then pumped the clutch pedal and held it down again with my trusty pole then released the bleed screw again. Once i had pedal feel it didn't take long for me to get it functioning correctly. Would have been much easier with 2 people though.

Where i went wrong was trying to get good pedal before starting. Next time i'll just be patient.

the easy way to avoid what youve just discovered is to bleed the MC first without a pipe on it...

put your finger over the hole and have someone pump the pedal, your finger will act as a one way valve (best to wear nitrile style gloves) and the MC will prime up... once its primed you're good to go for a gravity bleed or a vac bleed...

I just put the pipes in and then get the bleed nipple out, put my finger over it and get the helper to have a go again. get in just the right position and you can watch the fluid level at the same time.
