That's why I have acquired six of them and still counting. Some are a bit beyond repair and a couple I have here are pretty good for the age, the rest fall in between.

I had a tidy 76 2 door in beige when I was still living in Brisbane a few years back, I sold it and regretted ever since as it was pretty original (was either get happy with the grinder and fit all my lockers and big tyres to it. Was such a original and unmolested Rangie I just couldn't do it).

I just picked one up off the forum a few weeks ago with a LT77 5 speed, not terribly straight though but still a solid unit with no rust (hard to find these days) and in Derwent blue which was common on 4 doors here but only seen a couple in 2 door models. Drove fine and didn't miss a beat back home either.

    Pride of the fleet

    Hi Everyone,

I now have a convincing argument to tell my misses that my 2 door classic is an investment in our future, garaged it and keep it as original as possible ....thereby allowing me to go out and purchase another RRC 4 door or Defender to modify and use as my weekend toy

    Should'nt be that difficult ......

    Cheers

I'll get some updated pics of it on the weekend after a blast with the pressure washer.

Pretty much, plus a few small mechanical type things as per most 30 yo Rangies. Mechanically okay just needs a good looking over.

I gave this a new rear propshaft today. The original one had 38 years of wear in the sliding spline (it was knackered) and the short drive I have done (700m home) would indicate money well spent. Much improved driveline tightness and less noise.

Last week I fitted four new springs and now there is a lot of noise coming from either the rear shocks or the Boge self leveling unit. I have always intended on replacing / refurbishing both along with all the bushes so it isn't a major concern.

Great find and congrat on your purchase , definitely one to enjoy , Im also a big advocate of AC , but do enjoy window down driving at times with it's not too dusty.
